Liverpool received a much-needed boost as Egypt granted the club’s request to exempt Mohamed Salah from international duty this month.

Salah has been grappling with persistent injuries, a lingering issue since his time at the Africa Cup of Nations, causing concerns for both his club and national team.

His recent comeback from a hamstring injury, though in a substitute role against Sparta Prague, highlights the fragility of his physical condition.

Jurgen Klopp’s team is keen on having Salah back in top form, recognizing his importance to their success.

Liverpool took proactive measures by requesting Salah’s omission from Egypt’s squad for the upcoming break, with the intention of allowing him sufficient time to recover fully.

Initially met with resistance from the Egyptian Football Association and newly appointed manager Hossam Hassan, Liverpool’s plea eventually persuaded Egypt to comply.

This decision to prioritize Salah’s health over his participation in a friendly tournament in the UAE signifies a notable shift in Egypt’s approach.

This change is significant, especially considering previous criticism from manager Hassan, who had previously questioned Salah’s choice to seek treatment in Merseyside during the Africa Cup of Nations.

Hassan had remarked, “If I were the Egypt manager and he expressed his desire to go to Liverpool, I would advise him to stay there, as we have capable players in the national team.”
