‘I tried possible best to convince Him to join Man City but He choose Arsenal’: Man city Star Rodri confirmed His £40m Spanish teammate have pledged to join Arsenal over Man city

Arsenal have been tracking 22-year-old defender Miguel Gutiérrez since his Real Madrid debut in 2021. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have recently sent scouts to watch the young talent, who is contracted to Girona until 2027.

While no direct competitors for Gutiérrez’s signature have been named, it is widely believed that Real Madrid could be interested in bringing him back.

Gutiérrez came through the ranks at Real Madrid’s academy before moving to Girona for €4 million in 2022. The Spanish club included a 50% sell-on clause in the deal, but with Real Madrid already focused on Fran Garcia and possibly targeting Alphonso Davies, a return to the Spanish capital seems unlikely at this point.

Although Girona would prefer to retain the full-back until the summer, a significant offer in January could force the Catalan club to reconsider.

Are Arsenal Seeking a New Left-Back?

With Kieran Tierney’s loan move to Real Sociedad over the summer and Nuno Tavares’ loan to Nottingham Forest (which includes a buy option), Arsenal are exploring options to reinforce their left-back position. This leaves Oleksandr Zinchenko as the only senior left-back at the club.

Gutiérrez’s impressive performances for Girona, who currently top La Liga, have caught the attention of scouts. The 22-year-old has contributed one assist in 12 appearances across all competitions, showcasing his strong offensive and defensive capabilities.

In total, Gutiérrez has made 46 appearances for Girona, earning significant interest from top clubs, with Arsenal monitoring his progress closely.

One of Gutiérrez’s standout attributes is his ability to play as an inverted full-back, a style that fits perfectly with Mikel Arteta’s tactical preferences. Arteta values full-backs who can cut inside into midfield and facilitate smooth transitions between defense and attack, making Gutiérrez an ideal candidate for the role.
