Thomas Partey OFFICIAL releases press statement as He signed another 1yr Contract extension with Arsenal TODAY,Norgard deal finally off as earlier reported today

In a breaking development from North London, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has officially put pen to paper on a new one-year contract extension with the club. The Ghanaian international, whose previous deal was set to expire in 2025, will now remain at the Emirates until the summer of 2026.

Partey personally confirmed the news during a press conference earlier this afternoon, releasing a statement to address both fans and media amid weeks of speculation about his future.

“I’m very happy to extend my stay here at Arsenal,” Partey said. “This club is like family to me, and I feel I still have so much to give to this team. The support from the manager, my teammates, and the fans has been incredible, and I’m ready to give everything for this badge.”

The announcement arrives just hours after reports suggested Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard was on the verge of joining Arsenal as a potential replacement for Partey. However, following confirmation of the Ghanaian’s extension, Arsenal have now officially withdrawn their interest in the Danish midfielder.

Sporting Director Edu Gaspar addressed the situation during the press conference:
“With Thomas committing his future to the club, we have decided to end discussions regarding other midfield targets, including Christian Nørgaard. We are delighted to keep a player of Thomas’ quality and experience in our squad.”

Partey’s Arsenal career has been a mix of brilliance and injury setbacks since his high-profile move from Atlético Madrid in 2020. However, Arteta has consistently backed the midfielder, praising his tactical intelligence and leadership in the dressing room.

Mikel Arteta, reacting to the news, said:
“Thomas is a player of enormous value to us. When fit, he brings balance, experience, and steel to our midfield. I’m pleased he’s staying on to continue contributing to what we’re building here.”

The decision to keep Partey is also seen as a strategic move to provide leadership within a relatively young Arsenal squad heading into another title-challenging campaign.

With Nørgaard’s deal now officially called off and Partey’s extension signed, Arsenal will shift focus to strengthening their attack and defence in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
