“I actually wanted this signing to happen in January but we don’t have the money yet. This is how I want this team to look like if we want to win the league”-RUBEN AMORIM reveals How Man Utd could line up next season with three huge signings including Matheus Cunha

In a revealing press conference that’s ignited excitement among Manchester United fans, Ruben Amorim, one of the front-runners for the Old Trafford job this summer, opened up about his vision for the club — and the three signings he believes could transform United into Premier League title contenders.

Amorim, who is reportedly in advanced talks with United’s board, made it clear that Matheus Cunha is one of his top priorities, alongside two other major reinforcements. The Portuguese coach admitted he had already wanted the club to make these moves during the January transfer window, but financial constraints made it impossible.

> “I actually wanted this signing to happen in January, but we didn’t have the money yet. This is how I want this team to look if we want to win the league,” Amorim told reporters.

The Sporting CP boss — known for his tactical versatility and aggressive pressing systems — believes Cunha’s energy, creativity, and attacking versatility would be a perfect fit for United’s forward line. The Brazilian forward, currently impressing in the Premier League, has long been admired by Amorim for his ability to play across the front three and drop deep to link play.

Alongside Cunha, Amorim has also earmarked a commanding defensive midfielder and a dynamic right-sided centre-back as essential additions to reshape United’s squad for a title push.

How Manchester United Could Line Up Next Season Under Amorim:

GK: Andre Onana
RB: Diogo Dalot
CB: New Signing (right-footed centre-back)
CB: Lisandro Martinez
LB: Luke Shaw
CDM: New Signing (defensive midfielder with ball-winning ability)
CM: Bruno Fernandes
CM: Kobbie Mainoo
RW: Antony
ST: Matheus Cunha
LW: Marcus Rashford

Amorim envisions a fluid 4-3-3 formation, built around high pressing, fast transitions, and versatile forwards capable of interchanging positions. His plan includes making Cunha the focal point of United’s attack, supported by the creativity of Bruno Fernandes and the explosiveness of Rashford and Antony on the flanks.

The manager also stressed the importance of securing a midfield destroyer to provide defensive cover and free up United’s more creative players to operate with freedom in the final third.

> “We need legs, intensity, and aggression. If we get these profiles, I believe we can challenge for the title,” Amorim added.

With United’s hierarchy reportedly backing Amorim’s vision, fans could be in for a busy summer transfer window — and a bold new era of football at Old Trafford.
