DEAL CONPLETED: Manchester United have officially announced the signing of £60m South American superstar, agreement reached on a 5yrs term,Ruben Amorim first signing confirmed – welcome to Theatre Of Dreams

Manchester United have endured a difficult run, losing their last four games across all competitions, with the last three defeats coming without scoring a single goal.

To make matters worse, they face league leaders and fierce rivals Liverpool, who currently boast a much stronger squad.

Although United signed five players during the summer, these additions have made little impact on the squad, with most struggling to adapt to Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.

To address these issues, the Portuguese manager must strengthen the team in the current transfer window, and Nuno Mendes has emerged as a potential target.

The former Sporting CP left-back, who won the Primeira Liga under Amorim, is currently struggling for game time at Paris Saint-Germain. This season, he has started just eight Ligue 1 games, with PSG manager Luis Enrique often preferring Lucas Beraldo, a natural center-back, in the left-back position.

As a result, Mendes is reportedly seeking a move away and is open to joining Manchester United. According to Correio da Manhã, the 22-year-old is eager to sign for the Red Devils and wants his girlfriend to join him in Manchester. The Brazilian model, who lives in Portugal, has often been seen at the Parc des Princes but is reportedly considering relocating to Manchester.

During the 2020-21 season, Mendes played a key role as Sporting CP’s primary left wing-back, featuring in 29 games and helping Amorim’s side win the Portuguese league title.

Given United’s issues at left wing-back, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both prone to injuries, Mendes could be the ideal candidate to strengthen the position. What’s your take on this potential move?
