Spanish Club Athletico Madrid is Set to offer FLOP player Joao Felix in Exchange of City Star boy

According to HITC Football, Atletico Madrid is reportedly interested in acquiring Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez and is even willing to include Joao Felix as part of the deal.

Joao Felix, who recently returned to Atletico Madrid after a loan spell at Barcelona and previously with Chelsea, is not part of Atletico’s future plans. Despite this, there is a possibility that the Premier League champions, Manchester City, might be interested in the Portuguese international.

However, there is no current indication that Manchester City, also known as the Cityzens, are keen on signing Joao Felix. They are particularly focused on keeping Julian Alvarez, who they see as a valuable asset to their team.

HITC reports that although Atletico Madrid is showing strong interest in the Argentine attacker, Pep Guardiola’s team is adamant that Alvarez is not for sale.

Why is Atletico Madrid so persistent in trying to sign Julian Alvarez? The reason lies in the player’s situation at Manchester City. The 24-year-old striker is reportedly unhappy with his limited role at the Etihad Stadium. Despite having started 39 matches in all competitions last season, Alvarez found himself on the bench for critical games. Notably, he did not feature in the final four Premier League matches or the two legs of the Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid believes that Alvarez would be keen on a move to the Wanda Metropolitano. They understand that if Alvarez wants to play in Spain, Atletico might be his only viable option since neither Real Madrid nor Barcelona is interested in signing him.

Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to be prolonged and complex. Atletico is reportedly willing to offer £70 million for Alvarez if Joao Felix is not included in the deal. However, this amount is believed to be significantly lower than what Manchester City would expect.

Atletico might be hoping they can maintain their proposed bid since they are not anticipating any competition from Barcelona, Real Madrid, or Paris Saint-Germain. This lack of a bidding war could work in their favor as they aim to secure the services of Julian Alvarez.
