French international Adrien Rabiot became a free agent when his contract with Juventus expired last month.

Previous reports have indicated that the versatile central midfielder has been offered to several clubs and is seeking a deal worth £7.6 million a year.

More recently, French journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin revealed that Rabiot is in talks with both Arsenal FC and Liverpool. However, the blow for the Anfield side is that the 29-year-old star prefers to sign for Arsenal and is close to joining them.

Liverpool already lost a key defensive target to Arsenal when the North London club secured Leny Yoro from Lille. Now, a proven quality midfielder like Rabiot also wants to move to the 13-time English champions instead of the 19-time English champions.

Even without Champions League football next season, the allure of Arsenal is too good to turn down for top players.
