Pep Guardiola broke down in tears in Press Season Conference after Key Manchester City player has been injured during the International Final Yesterday between Spain Vs England

As Manchester City watches with concern, their midfielder Rodri has sustained a suspected injury during the Euro 2024 final. Spain decided to withdraw him at half-time, raising further injury worries for the club.

Manchester City had a significant presence during Sunday’s thrilling match in Berlin, with many of their players representing England. Rodri was the only member of Pep Guardiola’s squad playing for Spain. After an uneventful first half, the 28-year-old midfielder did not return from the tunnel.

Instead, Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente, announced that Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad would replace Rodri. This decision surprised many, given Rodri’s importance to both his club and country.

Throughout the first half, Rodri appeared to be feeling discomfort in his left hamstring. He eventually pulled up in the middle of the game, bending over in pain. England’s Jude Bellingham even checked on him to see if he was alright.

During the break, Rodri finally met with a Spain team doctor as he headed toward the tunnel. With his face buried in his hands, and England’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford observing, it seemed clear that Rodri realized he could not continue playing.

Any hopes England had of capitalizing on Rodri’s absence were quickly dashed when Nico Williams scored for Spain just two minutes into the second half, giving them a 1-0 lead. Spain has an impressive record with Rodri in the lineup, winning fourteen of the last fifteen games he started—twelve in regular time, one in extra time, and one following a penalty shootout.
