Arsenal’s dream XI after Dani Olmo transfer done deal and Calafiori, Zubimedi, Osimhen and Nico Williams personal terms agreed – The premier league title is coming Home next season
Arsenal’s activity in the summer transfer market has been relatively subdued. Despite completing a £27 million deal for first-team goalkeeper David Raya, his permanent arrival was anticipated for nearly a year. As we approach a month into the transfer window, Mikel Arteta’s squad remains largely unchanged, with no new striker, midfielder, or defender added, even though a flurry of transfers was expected.
On the departure front, the club is still planning to revamp parts of the team, with potential exits spanning various positions including goalkeeper, defense, midfield, and attack. However, very few departures have been finalized, and the pre-season tour of America is fast approaching.
Despite the slow start, there is no immediate cause for concern at Arsenal. They are close to securing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori. While there are questions about his fit and the necessity of this deal, it signifies some movement in the market.
Two players on the periphery of Arteta’s squad are being considered for exits. These Hale End graduates have signed new contracts in the past two years, complicating their situations. However, neither has matched the progression of Arsenal since 2022. More importantly, their sales would represent ‘pure profit’ on the financial accounts, significantly improving Arsenal’s financial position and helping them comply with profitability and sustainability rules (PSRs).
Emile Smith Rowe, who has also been linked with a move away, is attracting interest from Luton, Fulham, and West Ham, with Wolves also reportedly keen on signing Reiss Nelson. Crystal Palace and Fulham are interested in Eddie Nketiah. Arsenal are open to all three departing, provided there is ample cover in the squad.
Although none of these deals are close to completion, it suggests that alongside bringing in Calafiori, Arsenal’s preference is to trim the squad rather than pursue additional high-profile signings.
