Arsenal star may face a lifetime ban like Pogba for suspected doping after running tirelessly for 90 minutes while playing for his country at the EUROS

Arsenal star William Saliba could face a lifetime ban similar to Paul Pogba’s for suspected doping after an impressive 90-minute performance for France at the EUROs.

According to a report from L’Equipe, France international centre-back William Saliba, age 23, did not board the France team bus following their 1-1 draw against Poland in Dortmund. The reason for his absence was a post-game anti-doping control that took longer than expected, causing the bus carrying his teammates to depart without him around 9pm CET.

Saliba, who played all three group stage matches for France, was finally able to leave Borussia Dortmund’s stadium at 10:30pm CET. During this extended stay, he was accompanied by members of the France coaching staff.

L’Equipe also reported that Tuesday night marked the arrival of the players’ families at the Euro 2024 base camp in Bad Lippspringe. The families are scheduled to depart from the Best Western Premier Park Hotel and Spa on Thursday around noon.
