Arsenal has made a bid for a player who has impressed at Euro 2024, signaling the club’s first significant move in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have been patient with their transfer activities so far, but there are expected departures from the squad, including players like Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah. However, sporting director Edu Gaspar has already taken steps to initiate Arsenal’s transfer dealings by submitting an offer for a standout performer from the Euros.

According to Turkish outlet Ajan Spor, Arsenal has placed a €20 million bid for Fenerbahce’s Ferdi Kadioglu. This move aligns with earlier reports from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who mentioned in May that the Gunners were close to agreeing on personal terms with the left-back. With Oleksandr Zinchenko potentially leaving due to stalled contract renewal talks and Kieran Tierney’s uncertain future after an injury at the Euros, Arsenal is keen to secure a reliable left-back.

Last season, Arsenal struggled to find a consistent performer in the left-back position. Takehiro Tomiyasu ended the campaign as the first choice, having displaced Jakub Kiwior. Jurrien Timber was sidelined for most of the season due to an ACL injury sustained on the opening day, only returning for the final game.

Arsenal’s offer for Kadioglu reflects their efforts to strengthen their defense and address the left-back position ahead of the new season.
