Man City manager Pep Guardiola is set to leave Manchester City next summer and he has been linked to join Thier Rival Club Manchester United in shocking move

Pep Guardiola, the renowned Spanish football manager, has definitively ruled out the possibility of moving to Manchester United once his current contract with Manchester City ends. This decision stands in contrast to his earlier statements suggesting he could envision himself managing at Old Trafford.

Guardiola joined Manchester City from Bayern Munich eight years ago, and during his tenure, he has achieved remarkable success. He has guided the team to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and most notably, a Champions League trophy. As he enters the final 12 months of his contract, it has been reported that he plans to leave the Etihad Stadium at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season.

Before committing to Manchester City, Guardiola had expressed an openness to managing Manchester United. Two years prior to his move to City, he received a call from Sir Alex Ferguson, inviting him to discuss the possibility of leading the team. In “Pep Confidential,” a book by journalist and close friend Marti Perarnau, Guardiola is quoted saying, “I appreciate this environment. One day I could see myself serving as a coach here.”

The book also highlights Guardiola’s favorable impressions of Bayern Munich’s training facilities, even preferring them over those at Barcelona. He shared his positive views with his personal assistant, Manuel Estiarte, saying, “I like this location. One day, I could see myself serving as a coach here.”

Guardiola’s admiration for Manchester United was evident when, on May 4, 2011, he and Estiarte visited Old Trafford. They watched Sir Alex Ferguson’s team triumph 4-1 over Schalke in a Champions League semifinal. This visit further reinforced Guardiola’s previous statements about potentially managing Manchester United.

Despite these past contemplations, Guardiola’s recent declaration makes it clear that he will not be moving to Manchester United, thereby closing that chapter of speculation about his future in football management.
