Manchester City ‘ready’ to sell one of their biggest ever signings just one year after bringing him to the Etihad

One year after making one of their most notable acquisitions, Manchester City is reportedly “ready” to part ways with the player.

This season, Manchester City achieved their fourth consecutive Premier League title. Despite this success, the club is looking to make some adjustments before the 2024-2025 season begins.

Rumors suggest that one of Manchester City’s key players might make a surprising exit from the Etihad Stadium. It appears the club is open to receiving offers for Matheus Nunes, who joined the team from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer for a substantial £53 million fee.

Nunes’ performance this season has been underwhelming. He made a total of 28 appearances across all competitions, with only 17 in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola’s management. Of those league appearances, he started just seven matches. These numbers have fueled speculation that Nunes may not have a future with Manchester City.

Graeme Bailey reports that Manchester City is willing to offload their Portuguese midfielder this summer. According to this source, the club is already considering cutting their losses on the young player.

Nunes is represented by the prominent agent Jorge Mendes, who is currently exploring potential opportunities for Nunes as the summer transfer window approaches.
