Jubilation rocks Stamford bridge as two players who is supposed to be the main man against Chelsea has been injured in training and has been ruled out for 4 weeks

Due to recent muscular injuries, Manchester United’s defensive lineup has been significantly impacted, with both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof sidelined for an estimated month-long absence.

The defensive woes for Manchester United began during their Premier League clash against Brentford, where Argentine center-back Martinez stepped in for Lindelof after the latter sustained a hamstring injury. However, Martinez’s temporary substitution was short-lived as he, too, succumbed to injury.

Lindelof, now facing a strained calf, picked up his injury during training sessions, forcing him to miss several upcoming fixtures for the club, starting with the crucial league match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Thursday, as confirmed by the club on Tuesday night.

Injuries have been an ongoing issue plaguing Manchester United throughout what has been a generally underwhelming season. Notable absences due to injury include Mason Mount, as well as defensive stalwarts Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, in addition to Martinez.

The defensive setback has prompted Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, to address the media on Wednesday, where he is expected to provide updates on the fitness of key players such as Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans. These injury concerns have undoubtedly contributed to Manchester United’s underperformance this season.

Despite the setbacks, Manchester United still have nine remaining league fixtures, commencing with the crucial clash against Chelsea and culminating with an Emirates FA Cup semifinal against Coventry City later this month.

As things stand, Ten Hag’s side finds themselves trailing Aston Villa by 11 points in the Premier League table, languishing in sixth place. The upcoming fixtures will test Manchester United’s resolve, with a pivotal encounter against Chelsea on Thursday followed by a challenging fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
