Real Madrid considering selling a key striker this summer to fund a “blockbuster” bid for Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is gearing up to make a significant move in the upcoming summer transfer window, as they are reportedly preparing a hefty £75 million offer to Manchester United. This move is fueled by their interest in Marcus Rashford, whom they see as a potential replacement for their star player Kylian Mbappe.
Recent developments indicate that Manchester United is contemplating the possibility of parting ways with one of their key strikers to free up resources for a substantial bid to secure Mbappe from PSG. Reports suggest that Manchester United is open to the idea of letting go of their highly valued player, who is currently rated at €120 million, in order to gather funds for what could be a sensational acquisition of Mbappe. The Daily Mirror has even indicated that PSG is anticipating Mbappe’s departure and is eyeing Rashford as a viable addition to their squad.
It’s worth noting that PSG had previously attempted to sign the 26-year-old back in 2022, but their efforts were unsuccessful despite offering him a staggering weekly wage of around £400,000.
Rashford’s performance with Manchester United this season has been underwhelming, having only managed to score seven goals in 27 league appearances. Given his lackluster form, PSG sees an opportunity to reignite their interest in him, although Manchester United values him significantly higher, closer to £100 million.
Manchester United may be inclined to enter negotiations, especially considering their limited budget for the summer transfer window due to Financial Fair Play regulations. However, it remains uncertain whether Rashford himself is willing to depart from Manchester United at this juncture.
