Real Madrid intend to welcome back Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao before the end of March

Real Madrid has faced significant setbacks early in the season, as both Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao suffered ACL tears within a short span of time. Courtois, the Belgian goalkeeper, incurred his injury during a training session, while the Brazilian defender, Militao, faced his during a match against Athletic Club on MD1.
Since then, the primary focus for both players has been on their recovery journey. Militao has shown slightly faster progress in his rehabilitation efforts, although Courtois is not lagging far behind. In recent weeks, Courtois has been seen participating in group training sessions on multiple occasions.
Real Madrid has set their sights on the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie (opponents yet to be announced) as a potential comeback milestone for both Courtois and Militao. According to reports, the club’s intention is for the duo to resume full training by the end of this month. There is even speculation that they might be fit for the La Liga fixture against Athletic Club following the international break, although the club is cautious not to rush their return and risk further setbacks.
The absence of both players has undoubtedly been felt by Real Madrid, with Militao’s absence being particularly notable. Andriy Lunin has admirably filled in for Courtois during his absence, alleviating some urgency in his return. However, there is a keenness from Carlo Ancelotti’s side to reintegrate Militao into the squad as soon as possible, recognizing his importance to the team’s defensive setup.
