FIFA has now delivered VERY SAD NEWS for the Officials and Referees of the match between Chelsea and Liverpool, which have cost them their jobs.
Jurgen Klopp, who was furious with the way the officials handled Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final triumph against Chelsea, has confirmed Ryan Gravenberch’s ankle ligament injury.
After the game went into extra time, Virgil van Dijk scored 118 minutes later to give the Reds a 1-0 win.
However, Gravenberch was taken off the pitch by a stretcher in the first half after a clumsy challenge by Moises Caicedo, which ended in him planting his studs on the Dutch midfielder’s ankle.
The Chelsea player was not punished, but he was required to celebrate with his teammates while wearing crutches and a protective boot after the game.
When questioned about the situation, Klopp eventually revealed that there is ligament damage but nothing is broken. However, he began by discussing the refereeing performance.
“The referee did not have the level of the game,” Klopp told Sky Sports, alluding to the two teams that were fighting fiercely.
“I apologize; that is the way it is. “I know you’ll make up a story, but everyone saw it.”
Liverpool versus Chelsea in the Carabao Cup Final
“There was no foul at all!” He did not even blow a foul whistle! The fourth official informs me that they are unable to offer a card. Oh, that’s a wise idea!
I’m not sure if this is too much, too quick, or something else for these guys, but it seemed obvious to me what was happening. We saw a Chelsea player stamp his ankle, and that’s all you need for a card.
“Hopefully, it won’t be too horrible. The X-ray revealed that it is not broken, but the ligaments have been damaged, thus that is the scenario. Despite everything else being wonderful, this is all horrible.
The Liverpool club now has a lengthier list of injuries, and Klopp believes he may struggle to field a team when they face Southampton in the FA Cup on Wednesday. Gravenberch is the most recent addition to this list.
