Premier League clubs expect points deduction for big-spending team as outcome set for next month

Everton has already been punished 10 points this season, and another club may follow, with Premier League clubs expecting the same conclusion next month.
The Toffees were punished 10 points in November for breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability criteria, and they have since appealed the decision, with the judgment anticipated soon.
On January 15, the Merseyside club was charged with violating financial laws once more, but this time Nottingham Forest was also involved.
According to The Independent, executives at rival Premier League teams anticipate Forest will be the second team deducted points this season, with the Nottingham club set to find out their fate early next month.
Forest have spent heavily since returning to the Premier League, signing 43 players. Of those signings, 30 were made in their first season back in the Premier League, where they finished 16th, four points above the relegation zone.
More point deductions would add another twist to the Premier League’s relegation fight, as the outcomes of Everton and Nottingham Forest’s cases will affect numerous clubs in England’s top flight.
