Erling Haaland Decides To Follow Kylian Mbappe To Real Madrid; Man City’s Future Is In Doubt Due To One Issue

Recent sources say that Real Madrid is interested in signing Manchester City’s Erling Haaland next summer, following the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe this year. The most recent updates shed light on whether Haaland would contemplate partnering with Mbappe, given Mbappe’s pre-contract arrangement with Real Madrid for the upcoming summer.

In this regard, Haaland is a priority target for Real Madrid in 2025, given the prospect of Manchester City losing him due to a release clause of around £171 million. According to the Daily Mirror, Haaland and Mbappe do not want to play together because they consider each other as long-term rivals for the Ballon d’Or.

Haaland had already rejected the prospect of joining Mbappe at PSG prior to his departure to Manchester City, and he may not consider moving to Madrid either, despite his enthusiasm in the club. Nonetheless, Haaland’s future at Manchester City is not clear. While City want to extend his contract until 2029 with greater release clause protection, Haaland wants assurances on Pep Guardiola’s term as head coach before making any decisions.

While he intends to stay in the Premier League until 2027, City’s ambitions to extend his contract until 2029 may be contingent on addressing Guardiola’s future first. At only 23 years old, Haaland has already had a huge impact at City, scoring 73 goals in 80 appearances and helping to the Champions League victory.
