‘I have never seen this type of player, even after scoring five, he was still hungry to score more goals against us yesterday. His style of play is unique, and I wonder if he is human or machine. Burnley manager Vincent Kompany heaps praise on one Arsenal player for his great performance yesterday.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Martin Odegaard for his outstanding performance against Burnley in the Premier League.
The Gunners extended their winning streak to five games in a row. They won comfortably 5-0 at Turf Moor.
Odegaard opened the score in just four minutes and also assisted on Bukayo Saka’s second goal of the match.
Arteta expressed his joy for the club captain following the 5-0 victory. He stated that Odegaard is in a’really excellent’ moment and ‘hitting form’ at the perfect time.
He told Arsenal.com: “I think confidence-wise he’s in a really good place, and physically as well with the way he applies himself; defending, attacking, the connection, the movement that he gave us on the right-hand side, it’s really good.” He’s on form.”
Odegaard covered his ears after scoring at Turf Moor, following recent criticism of Arsenal’s celebrations. When queried about it, Arteta responded, “I don’t know, I didn’t notice that he made that gesture.”
The club has been on fire, scoring 21 goals in those triumphs. The Dubai camp has performed admirably, having scored only four goals in the five games leading up to the trip.
Arteta will be hopeful that his team can continue their fine form when they face Porto in the Champions League. They will play the first leg of the round of 16 at the Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday.
The Gunners have not won in their last three away trips to Porto, drawing once and losing twice. They have the opportunity to break the skid and gain a significant edge in the second leg.
