‘I already understand how to stop Arsenal. Make their wingers ineffective and we’ll win the game. I’ve done it before, and I will do it again today. West Ham manager David Moyes has officially revealed plans to halt Bukayo Saka and Martinelli today.
Arsenal travel to West Ham United tomorrow afternoon, and David Moyes has been speaking to the media ahead of the game.
This season, David Moyes has already led West Ham to two victory over Arsenal, one in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup.
The Hammers have been absolutely bad since our last Premier League win, a 2-0 victory at the Emirates on December 28th, and we desperately need a win tomorrow to re-energize our quest for the top six.
However, Moyes has been up to his old antics when chatting with the media ahead of tomorrow’s encounter at the London Stadium.
The Scot seems to be unable to control himself at times.
David Moyes makes puzzling Arsenal comments ahead of the West Ham showdown
The Scot spoke with media at his pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon.
And Moyes underlined how difficult it will be for his squad to face Arsenal tomorrow, as stated by WHUFC.com:
I suppose if you had given me one of the wins against such a good Arsenal side, I would have been satisfied. Two is fantastic. If we can make three, it would be amazing, and we want to do so. We have them at home, but we are also quite conscious of how good a team they are. They are an extremely excellent side and have been challenging to win the Premier League.
However, why not approach the game with a more optimistic attitude?
Moyes consistently underestimates his team’s prospects against the big guys.
So it’s no surprise that he has a terrible record against them, isn’t it? As previously stated, the Gunners are an excellent squad. However, they have demonstrated that they are far from perfect this season.
We have previously defeated them away in the Premier League and at the London Stadium in the Carabao Cup. In addition, they have suffered league defeats against Fulham, Aston Villa, and Newcastle.
The issue I have with this is that if you continually telling your players how difficult a game would be, they will start believing it.
